The maker and date of this hand appliquéd Feather quilt are unknown. This true folk art quilt is rustically stitched (a kind term for not fine needlework) and hand quilted. Measures approximately 76’’ x 82’’ with some machine piecing of borders and binding. Shown on a full (double) bed. Muslin or possibly feed sack background and backing with a couple small stains on front and one torn spot. Highly decorative piece even with flaws and less than excellent stitching. Thin cotton batting inside. This quilt has been carefully laundered and red dye was fast.
