Winners of Fat Quarter Give-a-way & New Project

Today at noon (EDT) the drawing for the two Winter Song fat quarter bundles ended. I want to thank everyone that left a comment which entered your name into the drawing. All the comments were so nice. I am so glad the drawing was a random pick of two names. If I were to have to choose the winners from those wonderful comments, it would have been impossible! Many of you had plans for some terrific projects. I hope you still get those Christmas projects done anyway. Here are our lucky winners: Kalynn and Sylvia Ramsey. I will be getting those fat quarter bundles right out to you so you can get to those projects! Congratulations!

I also wanted to post my newest quilt project for you. Peppermint Twist is a table runner made from my Winter Song fabrics. There is a free PDF download of the project on my Projects Page.

Best wishes and many happy sewing projects to all.

Christmas Quilts

For me, last Christmas never was officially over with until the beginning of June. Thatwas because I was sewing up Christmas quilts for this falls quilt magazines. Well, all that hard work is paying off now. This week three more magazines are showing off all that hard work.

I do love Quilt Magazine, they have such a nice variety of projects and always take superb photographs with fun settings. The Simple Quilts & Sewing magazine is a special issue of Quilt Magazine. These projects are geared for those who want a fast and simple project as well as for those who may just be starting out sewing.

My Christmas Morning quilt uses my Winter Song collection to create a fast and fabulous "plaid" quilt. This quilt has a nice graphic pop and gives a fresh look to the holidays.

On the back cover of the Simple Quilts #122 issue, is an ad for my latest collection, Dilly Day. This collection is due out in December of this year and my Square Dance quilt is featured as the free download project quilt from Fabri-Quilt. These are the fabrics I will be working with this Christmas for quilts you will see next year in the magazines!

As I had mentioned in my post about "What Others are Sewing", Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting Nov/Dec 2011 issue has a on-line bonus quilt of my Snowflake quilt project. The Snowflake quilt also features fabrics from my Winter Song collection.

Go to: to download the instructions for this quilt.

The Dec/Jan 2012 - yes, I wrote it, 2012 - issue of Quilt Magazine is now on the newsstands. Their "Best of the Season" issue includes my Twinkling Stars centerpiece quilt from my Winter Song collection. This quilt project could be made as a table topper or open up a seam and make it into a Christmas tree skirt. Whichever way you want to use it, it will be a show stopper in your holiday decor.

So, as you can see, I am all set for the holidays! I hope my projects as well as all the other wonderful projects in these magazines will help you to sew up some beautiful holiday treasures for you and your loved ones.

Start Thinking About Christmas

I know it is only September, but if you are wanting to make any quilts or various projects for Christmas time, it is time to start thinking about starting those projects! All our favorite quilting magazines will be running their holiday issues. On the newsstands right now is the Quilters Newsletter special issue of Best Quilts for Christmas.

This issue is packed with wonderful holiday quilts, wall hangings, table toppers and other projects. I have two quilts in this issue that are made from fabrics from my Winter Song Collection!

Here is something to help you get started with your Christmas projects, Quilters Newsletter is giving away free fabric! Visit them at for all the details on their give away. You could win a fat quarter bundle of my Winter Song fabrics.
