2026 Gifting Handmade Week 2 Recap

October 23, 2026

If you enjoyed the first week of the 2026 Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase, you’ll be just as inspired — and perhaps even more delighted — by the second and final week of this year’s projects to gift (or keep for yourself).

THE MAKERS

I’m so honored to host such a talented group of makers in this special Thank You tribute to the kind, generous, and skillful ladies who test for me throughout the year. This is my opportunity to showcase and celebrate each of them as artists—not simply as testers. For the Gifting Handmade Maker’s Showcase, the parameters asked that my testers use any of my fabrics current, still in print Art Gallery Fabrics collections and create whatever they wished—anything they felt would make a wonderful gift for friends, family, the home, or a keepsake for themselves. The event also invites you to explore new patterns and techniques, serving as our gift and source of inspiration for you, our followers.

PAST YEARS

This year marks my 5th year hosting the Gifting Handmade Maker’s Showcase, so the number of beautiful gift ideas that have come out of this event over the years has really grown and still remains a wonderful resource. If you’d like to look back on past projects and inspiration, here’s a list of all the weekly recap posts for the previous 4 years plus the 2026 Week 1 Recap:

OUR SPONSORS

I want to give a big shout out to this year’s sponsors, Ash & Elm Quiltery and Prym Americas, for generously supplying the Gifting Handmade event with wonderful prizes that are exactly what you need to help you move your sewing projects forward. We kicked off this year’s Gifting Handmade on October 9th on my Instagram feed with a 16-piece fat quarter bundle giveaway of my new Charming One collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, kindly provided by Ash & Elm Quiltery. The finale giveaway will also take place on Instagram hosted on my @sharonhollanddesigns feed on October 23rd through the 26th and features a useful notions bundle from Prym alongside a 12-piece fat quarter bundle personally curated and donated by me.

THE INSPIRATION

It’s been an inspirational second week of Gifting Handmade projects! If you’ve been following along each day on @sharonhollanddesigns on Instagram, you’ve already seen images and learned the details of the projects posted so far. This blog post will give even more details about the individual makers and their gifting ideas, project links, and fabric selection.

DAY 8

MICHELLE CORLESS

On DAY 8, Michelle Corless shared her free tutorial for making a Double-Sided Fabric Wrap with Ribbons. Michelle used Spruce prints from my Art Gallery Fabrics collection and paired them with the coordinating Spruce ribbons from my Renaissance Ribbons collection for an elegant and professional finish.

You’ve carefully chosen the gift, so why not put just as much care into how it’s presented with a reusable, sustainable, and tactilely beautiful Double-Sided Fabric Wrap that elevates the entire experience? This adaptable project can be customized to fit any size you need, and there’s no limit to the looks you can create by selecting fabrics that suit the occasion and style.

Michelle’s tutorial includes clear directions on how to make the wrap, along with three ribbon-tying options and an alternative method designed for easier, more accessible unwrapping.

When asked about her inspiration for the is project, Michelle said, “When I was growing up, Santa used special, metallic wrapping paper. It was so fancy! Following the tradition of special wrapping, I created this tutorial to make fabric wrapping fun, sustainable, and an all-in-one solution (no tape required).”

If you’re on Instagram, follow Michelle @compassandwildflower to see more of her thoughtful and beautiful sewing and quilt patterns or learn more about her from her blog Compass and Wildflower and while you’re there, be sure to check out her pattern shop! Also find Michelle on YouTube and TikTok.

DAY 9

TRACEY TABER-PERRY

On Day 9 of the Gifting Handmade Maker’s Showcase, Tracy Taber-Perry has out done herself by creating a double-sided Christmas tree skirt using prints from my Spruce collection from Art Gallery Fabrics and paired them with the coordinating Spruce ribbons from my Renaissance Ribbons collection.

Tracey followed the Holiday Hexagon Tree Skirt pattern by Angela Pingel for the front of the tree skirt and used the same pattern to create the tree skirt shape, but instead of a typical single-piece backing, she pieced together a Lo & Behold Stitchery Petite Plaid backing, creating a finished tree skirt that offers two distinct looks.

Whether you decide to go all out like Tracey did with a two-sided tree skirt or opt for the simpler, one-sided version, she offers a helpful suggestion for anyone making this pattern. To avoid binding around all those sharp angles, Tracey recommends rounding the corners on both the inside and outside edges of the tree skirt, which makes the binding process noticeably easier.

To see more of her beautiful sewing projects, this talented maker can be found on Instagram, @ttabes80.

DAY 10

Sandy Saengsuk

I’m not sure what’s going on this year but on Day 10 we have another double-duty Gifting Handmade project! I love how Sandy Saengsuk of @thaicharmllc and the other makers are getting the most bang out of their sewing with a reversible pattern!

Sandy’s Double Darling double-sided interchangeable patchwork bow pattern is a new pattern in her shop and would make the perfect gift or home decor accessory for your own home.

Explore Sandy’s website at Thai Charm LLC to browse all of her patterns, learn about her upcoming Block of the Month sew-along, visit her shop, get her book, and discover the quilting services she offers—you’ll enjoy her work as much as I do! She’s also on Facebook @ThaiCharmbySandy.

The Double Darling pattern guides you to make a reversible small patchwork bow to layer over a reversible large bow, creating a full, layered accessory that can offer up to four distinct looks depending on the fabrics, colors, and seasonal design choices you make. Sandy used prints from my Spruce collection and from my Charming One collection to create two unique, seasonally appropriate looks—one fresh and evergreen for winter months and one light and cheerful for fall, spring, or summer.

DAY 11

Marija Vujcic

For Day 11 of the Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase we were treated to two different versions of Marija Vujcic’s new Family Time Table Runner. Marija’s pattern is so new, in fact that as I’m writing this blog post the pattern is not officially released yet but don’t worry, Marija has a signup link on her Instagram page @maraquiltdesigns on Instagram where you will get notified when the pattern is available along with a coupon code for a discount to use on your purchase.

Like I said, Marija made two Family Time Table Runners to show how versatile this pattern is for any time of year—just switch up the fabrics, colors, and and prints to suit the season or occasion. The Art Gallery Fabrics Spruce collection runner is ready for a Christmas family gathering and will bring bright, festive cheer to any tabletop. The pattern is offered in three length options—42”, 72”, and 92”—so it will cover everything from a small side table to the longest holiday dining table.

For Marija’s second runner, she used my Art Gallery Fabrics Charming One collection to create an utterly charming piece that would be perfect for use any time of year.

All the quilting on the runners was free-motion quilted by Marija herself, using Aurifil threads for a beautiful finish.

You’ll love how quickly this table runner comes together with strip set piecing and Marija’s expert instructions. See more of what this talented maker is doing on Facebook at Mara Quilt Designs.

DAY 12

Sharon Holland

For Day 12 of Gifting Handmade, I got to show off my second Makers Showcase make. Originally I had planned a few different projects for this extra day, but then the need arose to make a baby Goose Goose quilt as a special gift — so I decided to share that handmade present here on the platform.

If you remember, when I first released the Goose Goose pattern in February of this year, the very first Goose Goose quilt was given to my youngest granddaughter as she transitioned into a big-girl bed from a crib. You can see and read about that quilt on the Goose Goose Quilt blog post. I cannot tell you how much that girl loves her quilt! She adores it so completely that when she isn’t sleeping under it at night, she’s dragging it around the house during the day, cuddling and carrying it everywhere. So, her mother and I thought that maybe she could use a smaller, daytime version of the Goose Goose quilt for all her daytime adventures.

I let her choose the fabrics she wanted for her new, smaller quilt, and this future designer did a wonderful job selecting her palette! She chose Flights of Fancy Celeste for the background and Flights of Fancy Dahlia for the beak, feet, and binding, pairing those with prints from my AGF Heirloom, Listen to Your Heart, and Potager collections for the geese and hearts. We’re calling this Goose Goose quilt the “Jojo” version for my granddaughter. I had the quilt quilted by Joyce Ulm of Eva Mae’s Custom Quilts in the same pantograph as her big quilt and also used Hobbs Batting Polydown batting for that wonderful puff, just like her other quilt. The only change made on this small quilt was that I backed it with the Hens & Chicks flannel from Potager for some extra cozy warmth and snuggly softness.

I cannot wait to give it to her this weekend — I even had an early prototype Quilted Carryall bag on hand, made in the same Flights of Fancy Celeste blue print that fits a crib quilt perfectly, sitting ready to go. I’m sure she’ll love to tote her dollies around in the bag, and it also makes a lovely gift wrap for the quilt and the new book I picked out for her.

Ashley at Ash & Elm Quiltery has kitted up this Jojo Goose Goose so you can make one just like for some lucky little girl or boy! The Goose Goose quilt pattern is sold separately from my website SHOP as well as the Quilted Carryall bag pattern can be purchased from my website shop.

Day 13

Tamara Darragh

Day 13 of the Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase is the final project day. Tamara Darragh of @remivailstudio on Instagram shares her charming Mary Golden Tote, made by pairing two mini blocks from her Mary Golden quilt pattern with her free How to Make a Quilted Tote From Any Quilt Block tutorial.

See all of Tamara’s tutorials, patterns, blog, and shop listings on her Remi Vail Studio website and also on her Remi Vail Studio Facebook page.

Tamara used prints from my Art Gallery Fabrics Charming One, Heirloom, and Midsummer collections to thoughtfully curate this stunning 2-sided tote bag — a practical, stylish, and handy accessory that will complement any season or setting and is sure to attract plenty of compliments.

The beautiful hand quilting was done by Tamara, using 8 wt and 12 wt Aurifil Thread with Hobbs Tuscany 100% Wool batting inside for a lovely weight and loft. Other notions include 1-1/2”-wide cotton webbing for the handles, a magnetic snap, and Pellon Fusible Fleece. Tamara also added some interior pockets to her Mary Golden Tote that were not part of the original tote tutorial.

Day 14

Giveaway

Day 14 wraps up the 2026 Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase with a lovely giveaway from our sponsor Prym Americas and a special contribution from me. This colorful bundle includes a 6” x 24” Omnigrid ruler, a pack of Dritz Heat-Erasable Marking Pens, a Dritz Chalk Wheel, elegant Dritz Woodland Needle Threaders, and a Dritz Rainbow Color Selector. To inspire you to experiment with the Rainbow Color Selector, I’ve also curated a 12-piece fat quarter bundle from my Art Gallery Fabrics, featuring a spectrum of prints chosen from across my various AGF collections.

This giveaway can only be entered through my Instagram account @sharonhollanddesigns. To take part, please follow the directions on the giveaway post: leave a comment on that post and ensure you are following both my account and Prym Americas. The giveaway is open only to addresses within the United States for shipping. Instagram rules apply; see the giveaway post on Instagram for the complete terms and details. A winner will be randomly drawn from the IG comment pool on October 26th around 4 pm Central time and the winner will be announced on that IG post once the giveaway closes.

We sincerely hope you have enjoyed this year’s Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase and feel inspired to start early and create some special handmade gifts this season.
